CARDET has successfully completed the piloting phase of the TACKLE e-learning platform and Open Educational Resources, which aims to increase awareness of racism in football and the significance of switching to inclusive techniques. The piloting also introduced experts in the field (trainers, coaches, policymakers, and stakeholders) to the project’s philosophy, achievements, and valuable contribution to the area.
We held the first workshop on February 6th with grassroots and professional football coaches in association with one football club in Cyprus. The second was conducted online on March 15th, in which we invited people from different clubs and fields of expertise. By doing so, you were able to expand the project’s network, increase our influence, and bring in diverse perspectives that could benefit the resources of the project in the future.
Participants demonstrated a great interest in sharing their experiences and exchanging good practices as they made sound suggestions regarding the material under consideration. The events were attended by twenty individuals in total.
A positive development is that all the involved parties recognise the need to address racism in football, and they are willing to take action to promote inclusion and diversity. Hopefully, these resources will continue to be used widely and contribute to making football a more inclusive and welcoming sport for everyone.
