The ‘Realities, Challenges and Approaches in combating racism in grassroots and professional football: a European perspective’ is a comparative analysis of the findings of the research conducted in Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Romania, and the Netherlands that illustrates the present realities, challenges and gaps in regards to Racism in Grassroots football.
The research entailed primary and secondary data collected from grassroots coaches and players through focus group discussions and evaluation questionnaires.
In particular, the report identifies and presents good practices and effective approaches for the prevention of racism in football and to promote inclusion and diversity in football teams and football competitions. Most importantly it sets the framework upon which the project will develop the learning resources and tools to educate and empower football coaches and professionals to act as agents in rooting out racism from grassroots football.
